Summer camps 2013
We can definitely use the expression ‘Time flies when you’re having fun’ today, while we look back at the first 2-weeks of the residential summer camp of 2013. When the kids first arrived in Verbier , they were all a little bit nervous of what the next two weeks had in store for them at the Altitude Summer Camp! But, we can conclude they have all had the time of their lives over the last two weeks!
In today’s blog we will give you a quick overview of what the last two weeks of summer camp have involved. Of course we started the camp with name games to make sure all kids got to know each other on the first evening. After a good night’s sleep in our beautiful Swiss chalet we started the official program with the language classes and mountain adventure groups.

Over the two week period the kids took English or French classes every morning. In the afternoons they joined the Mountain Adventure groups to meet new friends and practice their language skills. Activities included swimming in the outdoor swimming pool, playing mini golf, ice-skating and a visit to the Mont Fort followed by a trottinette downhill from Ruinettes to Verbier.

The mountain adventure groups did a large variety of adventure activities to get a true experience of mountain life. For example, they learned how to build a fires and shelters in the forest. Other activities such as mountain biking and map-reading were also on the list of the mountain adventurers.
After a tasty dinner, prepared by our private chef, evening entertainment activities would begin. These included drama lessons by our specialized drama teacher Simon, team games, mini Olympics, arts and crafts and much more!
So after all that, the kids can now look back on an amazing time here in Verbier! Most of them are heading home tonight while we are preparing the chalet for another residential summer camp for the next two weeks. Time flies…
