International Summer Camps – English Language Teacher
Emily joins Altitude as an English Language Teacher this Summer. Originally from Hertfordshire in England, Emily got her first ski instructor job in Verbier, and has now completed three winters here having left her office-based job as a project manager in IT and finance to move to the Alps.
Emily has a degree in Linguistics, and finds the study of language fascinating. As well as teaching skiing to children, she also holds a teaching English as a Foreign Language qualification and has worked teaching children during and after completing her degree. Emily also speaks basic French and Italian, and is working on improving her fluency in both these languages.
Emily loves everything about Verbier “Being surrounded by mountains every day is an absolute treat, especially when the sun’s out with beautiful blue skies. I like the atmosphere and community spirit, and the fact there’s always something to do”.
When she isn’t working, Emily enjoys skiing in the winter, and is looking forward to doing lots of hiking and exploring the mountains this summer.
Emily is most looking forward to meeting all of her language students this summer “ if they are like my ski school kids they will be fascinating and always have something interesting to say!”.
