French Language Mornings

Our French language programme is available for those learning French as a second or third language, and we offer a fantastic morning programme in the heart of the French-speaking Swiss Alps within our residential camp.

The French programme includes morning language lessons from 09h00 – 12h00 Monday to Friday with native French speaking teachers, who are both qualified and experienced. Our French language campers and their families have found this a fantastic way to boost children’s French-speaking skills as part of a fun and active summer camp experience, whether they are beginners to the language or looking to improve their knowledge of French vocabulary, conversation and grammar.

Our morning French lessons are designed to not feel like school, with small class sizes of a maximum of 8 per teacher split by age and French ability level, and often smaller with only 3-4 students per class. In smaller groups, children are encouraged to develop their conversational skills and confidence when speaking French.

Classroom-based activities are interspersed with time outside the classroom too, for instance using their new French skills during a visit to the local market or following recipe instructions during a baking session.

Action-packed afternoons

Following the morning French lessons, campers from all our programmes come together for lunch at 12h00, followed by afternoon and evening activities in groups together with their activity leader. These activities include sports, games and trips, exploring our amazing mountain environment.

The afternoon and evening programme is run in English by our staff, however as our camp is based within French-speaking Verbier and the surrounding area, there are lots of opportunities for campers to use and improve their French skills.

For the afternoons, the programme is set each day with lots of variety and encourages campers to take part in everything on offer, ranging from swimming, tennis, high ropes courses or hiking trips. Groups in the afternoons are the same during the week, allowing campers to make friends from all over the world and share an amazing summer of fun together.

Evenings Together

Our residential programme includes the unique experience of staying away from home at camp with new
friends from all over the world. Popular with those both from Switzerland and countries all over the world, children will make international friends, learn life skills and get to enjoy an additional evening programme and weekends of activities and excursions.

Daytime activities at camp finish at 16.00, and after this residential campers have free time followed by dinner, and an evening activity, involving anything from cooking classes, art sessions or an evening at the golf driving range.
