Terms and Conditions

1. BOOKING CONFIRMATION

A. All bookings are made with Altitude Camps (S.A.R.L)
B. The booking will become the binding contract (“the contract”) between the parties only when Altitude Camps acknowledges receipt of payment as indicated in clause 2A below.
C. The contract will be subject to these booking conditions (“the conditions”) and will be governed and construed in accordance with Swiss law.
D. The person making the booking warrants Altitude Camps that he or she has the authority and legal right to represent the registered participant (and when the applicant is less than 18 years old, the authority of the parent, group leader or legal guardian) to contract Altitude Camps on behalf of each such member on the basis of all the contracts conditions.

2. PAYMENT

A. All payments must be paid on booking to confirm the place.
B. In the case of cancellation by the client, if made more than 30 days before the camp commences, a full refund will be given. For cancellations within 30 days, 50% of the fee paid is non-refundable.  If cancelled within 2 weeks of the start of camp, the full 100% payment is non-refundable.
C. All of our bookings will benefit from Altitude’s COVID-19 100% zero risk-free guarantee. This will be applicable to any bookings made which need to be cancelled due to the following COVID-19 issues provided we are notified 48 hours in advance of the camp:

  • The camper is prevented from travelling due to government-imposed travel restrictions in your country or in Switzerland
  • The campers is sick with Covid-19 and unable to travel (a medical certificate will be required)
  • The resort has been closed due to COVID-19

In all other circumstances, our standard cancellation policy applies.

3. CANCELLATION OF THE PROGRAM BY Altitude International Camps

A. Altitude reserves the right to cancel any summer camp. In the highly unlikely event of a camp being canceled, you will be offered the choice of an alternative arrangement or a full refund.
B. No refund will be payable if Altitude Camps is forced to cancel the program due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control and which could not have been foreseen or avoided even if due care had been exercised including but not limited to war, threat of war, riot, civil unrest, act of terrorism, act of god, flood or any other adverse weather conditions.

4. PARENTS RESPONSIBILITIES

Parents or legal guardians accept full financial responsibility for all registered participants on our camps for the following:
A. All pocket money and other personal purchases made on behalf of the child for anything not included in the camp package.
B. Damage whether deliberate or not to facilities, clothing, equipment or other belongings.
C. All costs of participants having to be sent home due to accident, misbehaviour, illness or any other reasons thought valid by Altitude Camps.
D. Rental of any equipment that Altitude Camps deem necessary so the participant can fully enjoy his/her holiday due to their own equipment being unsafe, missing, or potentially harmful.

5. PARTICIPANTS BEHAVIOUR

A. Whilst under the full supervision of Altitude Camps, participants are expected to comply with all rules and regulations imposed on them. Altitude reserves the right to send the participant back home during the camp if in Altitude Camps’ opinion the participant is incompatible with the general well-being of the camp. In this case, all costs will not be refunded and will be the responsibility of the parent or guardian. Altitude Camps fully reserve all rights to send any child home at the parent/guardians’ expense should we perceive their behaviours to be inappropriate. Such behaviours include, but are not limited to: the drinking of alcohol, threatening behaviour towards staff, students or anyone else, use of illegal drugs, smoking, entering of rooms used by the opposite sex, leaving the chalet at night time after lights out and bullying.

7. ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION
A. If photography consent is given, Altitude Camps reserves the right to use all artwork and any photography of the children on its websites and future promotional publications.

8. MEDICAL RELEASE

A. Altitude Camps views safety as its number one priority. Altitude  Camps reserves the right to take whatever action it deems necessary to safeguard the health and well-being of the participant.

9. MODIFICATION OF PROGRAM

A. Altitude Camps cannot be responsible for weather conditions that affect the participant’s ability to participate in activities. If in Altitudes’ opinion conditions are dangerous activities may be curtailed or cancelled.
B. Altitude Camps reserves the right to cancel any of the sessions mentioned in its brochure due to insufficient numbers of participants. In such a rare event Altitude Camps will make every effort to offer an alternative solution.

10. LIABILITY
A. Altitude International Camps will accept full responsibility for organizing the reserved camp activities and will do its best to fulfill these. However, under no circumstance can Altitude Camps be responsible for any service not directly under the control of Altitude Camps, for example; ski lifts, world events, mountain guides, hotels and transportation companies. For this reason Altitude cannot be held responsible for extra costs, damage, accidents, lateness or inconvenience as a result of an error by a company during the activities or transportation of participants unless caused by the proven negligence or lack of diligence by Altitude Camps. Every booking is accepted subject to all the conditions imposed by such outside companies and all claims with respect to these matters must be made directly to the concerned party.

11. HEALTH INSURANCE

A. In the event of accident, sickness or injury all costs of the medical treatment will be the sole responsibility of the parent, group leader, or legal guardian. Altitude Camps do not provide any form of insurance to campers. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure that all camp participants have sufficient insurance in place in case of accident, sickness or injury or to cover any medical costs themselves if required.

What data we collect and store and how?

We may collect the following personal information through our website using cookies, during the booking process via email, phone or our online booking system, from partner companies making a booking on your behalf, during your camp session or when you complete any surveys etc.

Name and contact information including email address and contact phone numbers.

Demographic information such as postcode, age, preferences and interests and other information related to your booking enquiry.

Passport information, nationality and date of birth.

Dietary and medical history.

How do we use this data?

We require this information to ascertain your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular the following reasons:

Allocating children to the correct camp.

Passing information to our teachers so that they know how to contact you, are aware of any dietary or medical needs and are informed of ability levels and requirements prior to the beginning of the session.

To provide our chefs with information regarding diet and health.

To arrange airport transfers and any private lessons.

To enable us to provide you with any documentation relating to visas.

Why might we share your personal data with third parties?

We will share your personal data with third parties where we are required by law, where it is necessary to administer the relationship between us or where we have another legitimate interest in doing so.

Which third-party service providers process my personal data?

“Third parties” includes third-party service. The following activities are carried out by third- party service providers: IT [and cloud] services, professional advisory services, debt collection services, administration services, marketing services, hotel and transfer companies.

All of our third-party service providers are required to take commercially reasonable and appropriate security measures to protect your personal data. We only permit our third-party service providers to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

What about other third parties?

We may share your personal data with other third parties, for example in the context of the possible sale or restructuring of the business. We may also need to share your personal data with a regulator or to otherwise comply with the law.

How long do we keep your data?

We will hold your data in our booking system for as long as our system is used within our company. All data in our email files and documentation will be held for 5 years only.

We partner with other third parties to provide specific services (mountain guides, airport transfers, sports coaches, hotel and chalet bookings). When the user signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.
